A quick and easy romantic cocktail featuring muddled fresh berries, lemon juice, honey, vodka, and topped with sparkling wine for a refreshing and indulgent drink perfect for special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced
  • A handful of fresh raspberries
  • 1 oz (30 ml) fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup
  • 1 teaspoon rose water (optional)
  • 2 oz (60 ml) vodka
  • 46 oz (120180 ml) chilled sparkling wine or champagne
  • Ice cubes
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish)
  • Lemon twist or strawberry slice (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Muddle the berries in a cocktail shaker using a muddler or the back of a wooden spoon for 1-2 minutes, releasing their juices without pulverizing the seeds.
  2. Add 1 oz fresh lemon juice and 1 tablespoon honey or agave syrup to the shaker. Stir or shake gently to mix.
  3. Pour in 2 oz vodka.
  4. Fill the shaker with ice cubes, cover, and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds to chill and dilute the mixture.
  5. Optional: Strain the mixture into a glass using a fine mesh strainer for a smoother drink, or pour directly for a textured experience.
  6. Slowly pour 4-6 oz chilled sparkling wine or champagne into the glass to keep the bubbles intact.
  7. If using, stir in 1 teaspoon rose water for a floral note.
  8. Garnish with a lemon twist or strawberry slice and a sprig of fresh mint. Serve immediately.

Notes

Do not over-muddle berries to avoid bitterness from seeds. Use fresh lemon juice for best flavor. Shake with ice to chill and dilute vodka mixture properly. Pour sparkling wine slowly to preserve bubbles. Garnishes add aroma and visual appeal. For non-alcoholic version, replace vodka and sparkling wine with sparkling water and cranberry or pomegranate juice.
