These savory cheeseburger sliders on sweet Hawaiian rolls combine juicy beef patties with melted cheddar cheese and a buttery, golden crust, perfect for parties and casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12-count Sweet Hawaiian Rolls (store-bought or homemade)
  • 1 pound (450 grams) Ground Beef (80/20 fat content recommended)
  • 6 slices Cheddar Cheese, cut in halves
  • 1 tablespoon Yellow Mustard
  • 1 tablespoon Ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Onion Powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 4 tablespoons Unsalted Butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame Seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Slice the Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping the top and bottom connected in one piece like a giant sandwich. Place this in your baking dish, cut side up.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with yellow mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix gently with your hands or a spatula—don’t overwork it.
  4. Spread the beef mixture evenly over the bottom half of the sliced rolls in the baking dish. Press gently to form a uniform layer about 1/2 inch thick.
  5. Place the cheddar cheese halves evenly over the beef layer, covering as much surface as possible.
  6. Carefully place the top half of the Hawaiian rolls over the cheese and beef, pressing down lightly but firmly to compact the sliders.
  7. Brush the melted butter generously over the top of the rolls, making sure to get into the nooks and crannies. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top if desired.
  8. Bake uncovered for 20-25 minutes or until the cheese is melted, the beef is cooked through (internal temperature 160°F / 71°C), and the tops are golden brown.
  9. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes to set.
  10. Slice between each roll with a sharp knife to separate the sliders. Serve warm.

Notes

Do not overmix the beef to keep sliders tender. Use a meat thermometer to ensure internal temperature reaches 160°F. Brushing melted butter on top adds flavor and browns the rolls beautifully. Let sliders rest before slicing to keep them intact. Variations include using plant-based meat for vegetarian option or swapping cheddar for pepper jack for spice.
