  • 1/2 cup (110g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 3 medium apples, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup (60g) all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup (50g) light brown sugar, packed
  • 1/4 cup (55g) unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup (120ml) store-bought caramel sauce
  • 1/4 tsp flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line your baking pan with parchment paper.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the flour, melted butter, sugar, and salt for the crust. Mix until crumbly but cohesive. Press the mixture evenly into the bottom of your prepared pan. Bake for 10 minutes, then set aside.
  3. Toss the sliced apples with sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg in a large bowl until evenly coated. Spread the apple mixture over the partially baked crust.
  4. In another bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and softened butter for the crumble topping until it forms a crumbly texture. Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples.
  5. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the apples are tender.
  6. Once the bars have cooled slightly, drizzle the caramel sauce evenly over the top. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  7. Let the bars cool in the pan for at least 1 hour before slicing.
