Ingredients

Scale
  • Red Layer: 1 (3 oz / 85 g) package strawberry or cherry flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold vodka (or substitute with lemon-lime soda for non-alcoholic)
  • White Layer: 1 (3 oz / 85 g) package unflavored gelatin
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold water
  • 1 cup (240 ml) cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup (300 g) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) vodka or lemon-lime soda
  • Blue Layer: 1 (3 oz / 85 g) package blue raspberry flavored gelatin
  • 1 cup (240 ml) boiling water
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) cold vodka (or substitute with lemon-lime soda)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Red Layer: Dissolve the strawberry or cherry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved (about 2 minutes). Let cool slightly, then stir in 1/2 cup cold vodka. Pour about 1.5 tablespoons into each shot glass, filling the bottom third. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until firm but slightly tacky.
  2. Make the White Layer: Sprinkle unflavored gelatin over 1/2 cup cold water and let bloom for 5 minutes. Beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add sweetened condensed milk and lemon juice, mixing until combined.
  3. Heat the bloomed gelatin gently until melted (about 15 seconds in microwave), then whisk into cream cheese mixture.
  4. Stir in 1/2 cup vodka. Let cool for 5-10 minutes until warm but not setting.
  5. Carefully spoon or pour white layer over red layer in each shot glass, filling the middle third. Chill for 30 minutes until set with slight tack.
  6. Prepare the Blue Layer: Dissolve blue raspberry gelatin in 1 cup boiling water, stirring for 2 minutes. Let cool slightly, then mix in 1/2 cup vodka.
  7. Pour blue layer gently over white layer, filling to top of each cup. Refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight until fully set.
  8. Keep chilled until serving. Optionally garnish with tiny fresh blueberries or a small mint leaf.

Notes

Pour layers slowly over the back of a spoon to avoid mixing colors. Chill each layer until tacky before adding the next. Softening cream cheese fully before mixing is crucial for smooth texture. Use freezer for 15 minutes to speed chilling but avoid freezing solid. For dairy-free, substitute cream cheese and condensed milk with coconut cream and coconut condensed milk. Vodka can be replaced with any clear spirit or lemon-lime soda for non-alcoholic version.
