A whimsical treat inspired by the wizarding world, featuring creamy white chocolate, tangy orange filling, and crackling popping candy for a magical experience.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups white chocolate
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1/2 cup popping candy
  • Optional: gel food coloring

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, beat 1/2 cup softened butter with 1 cup powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add 1 teaspoon orange extract and mix well. If desired, add a drop or two of food coloring and mix until evenly combined.
  2. Gently fold in 1/2 cup of popping candy into the filling mixture, being careful not to crush the candy.
  3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt 2 cups of white chocolate in 30-second intervals, stirring after each interval until smooth and completely melted.
  4. Spoon a small amount of melted chocolate into each mold, ensuring that the sides are fully coated. Tap the mold gently to remove air bubbles. Place in the freezer for 5 minutes to set.
  5. Once the chocolate shells are set, add a small scoop of the popping candy filling to each mold, leaving room for the top layer of chocolate.
  6. Cover the filling with more melted chocolate to completely seal the bon bons. Smooth the tops with a spatula and freeze for 20 minutes, or until firm.
  7. Carefully pop the bon bons out of the molds and enjoy the magical explosion of flavor and texture!

Notes

[‘Handle popping candy gently to avoid losing its fizz.’, ‘Use high-quality chocolate for better melting and setting.’, ‘Let the chocolate shells fully set before adding the filling.’, ‘Use a double boiler for melting chocolate if preferred.’, ‘Prepare bon bons ahead of time and store in the fridge or freezer.’]
