A comforting and effortless recipe featuring tender chicken, hearty noodles, and a creamy savory sauce, perfect for busy weekdays.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 23 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken broth
  • 2 cans cream of chicken soup
  • 12 oz wide egg noodles
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 cup milk
  • Optional: 1 cup frozen peas
  • Optional: 1 cup diced carrots
  • Optional: Parmesan cheese for topping

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the bottom of your crock pot.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth and cream of chicken soup. Stir gently to combine.
  3. Add the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to ensure the chicken is evenly coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours. The chicken should be tender and easy to shred.
  5. Once cooked, use tongs to shred the chicken directly in the crock pot.
  6. Add the egg noodles and stir them into the mixture. Cover and cook on high for an additional 30 minutes, or until the noodles are tender.
  7. Stir in the butter and milk to make the dish creamy and smooth.
  8. If desired, add frozen peas or carrots during the last 10 minutes of cooking.
  9. Serve warm and enjoy your comforting bowl of chicken and noodles!

Notes

[‘Use chicken thighs for extra flavor and moisture.’, ‘Keep an eye on the noodles during the final stage to prevent them from turning mushy.’, ‘Use a hand mixer on low speed for quick and easy shredding of chicken.’, ‘Double the recipe and freeze leftovers for a quick meal later.’, ‘Add a splash of chicken broth if the noodles soak up too much liquid.’]
