These Cinnamon Roll French Toast Bites combine the buttery aroma of cinnamon rolls with the custardy delight of French toast, creating a quick and irresistible breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Pre-baked cinnamon rolls, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup (80 ml) milk
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2 grams) ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons (28 grams) unsalted butter
  • Optional toppings: powdered sugar, maple syrup, whipped cream

Instructions

  1. Cut pre-baked cinnamon rolls into bite-sized pieces and set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until smooth.
  3. Dunk each cinnamon roll piece into the custard mixture, ensuring they’re fully coated. Let them soak for about 10 seconds.
  4. Melt butter in a nonstick skillet over medium heat and swirl to coat the pan evenly.
  5. Place the soaked cinnamon roll pieces in the skillet, leaving space between each one. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and slightly crispy on the edges.
  6. Transfer the bites to a plate and garnish with powdered sugar, maple syrup, or whipped cream. Serve warm.

Notes

Don’t over-soak the cinnamon roll pieces to avoid mushiness. Use medium heat for optimal crispiness and work in batches if your skillet is small.
