A fun and easy dessert featuring thinly sliced crisp apples drizzled with buttery caramel sauce and topped with a variety of crunchy and sweet toppings, perfect for parties and quick indulgences.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 medium-sized crisp apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith), cored and thinly sliced
  • 1 cup store-bought caramel sauce or homemade caramel sauce (unsalted butter, brown sugar, heavy cream)
  • ½ cup toasted pecans or walnuts, chopped
  • ¼ cup mini semisweet or dark chocolate chips
  • Sprinkles or toffee bits (optional)
  • Pinch of sea salt
  • Whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for serving (optional)
  • Optional toppings for bar: crushed pretzels or graham crackers, dried cranberries or raisins, shredded coconut (toasted or plain), peanut butter drizzle or chocolate syrup

Instructions

  1. Core and thinly slice 4 medium apples into about 12-16 slices per apple. Optionally toss slices with 1 teaspoon lemon juice to prevent browning.
  2. Warm 1 cup caramel sauce gently in the microwave for 20-30 seconds or on the stovetop until pourable but not hot. Stir well.
  3. Spread the apple slices evenly on a large platter or baking sheet lined with parchment paper, overlapping slightly for a layered effect.
  4. Set up the toppings bar by placing chopped nuts, mini chocolate chips, sprinkles, toffee bits, crushed pretzels, dried fruit, and other toppings in small bowls or ramekins around the platter.
  5. Drizzle the warmed caramel sauce evenly over the apple slices using a spoon or small ladle.
  6. Sprinkle chopped nuts and mini chocolate chips over the top. Lightly dust with sea salt if desired.
  7. Serve immediately with bowls of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream on the side for guests to add as they like.

Notes

Use a serrated knife to slice apples thinly without crushing. Warm caramel gently to avoid burning. Set up a toppings bar for an interactive dessert experience. Serve immediately for best texture and freshness. Leftovers can be refrigerated up to 24 hours but apples will soften and brown.
