Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • Pinch of red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Lemon zest (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil.
  2. Trim off the ends of the Brussels sprouts and halve them. Quarter any extra-large sprouts for even cooking.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. In a large mixing bowl, toss the Brussels sprouts with olive oil, salt, and pepper. Add half of the honey garlic glaze and mix until evenly coated.
  5. Spread the Brussels sprouts on the baking sheet in a single layer, cut-side down.
  6. Roast for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the edges are crispy and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and drizzle with the remaining honey garlic glaze. Toss gently to coat.
  8. Transfer to a serving dish and garnish with lemon zest or extra red pepper flakes, if desired.

Notes

[‘Don’t overcrowd the pan to ensure even roasting.’, ‘Use fresh garlic for bold flavor.’, ‘Flip the sprouts halfway through roasting for even browning.’, ‘Adjust sweetness by reducing honey or adding a splash of vinegar.’, ‘Keep an eye on the sprouts during the last few minutes to avoid over-browning.’]
