A quick and refreshing homemade frozen strawberry lemonade slushie that balances sweet and tart flavors with an icy texture, perfect for hot summer days.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and halved
  • 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2 lemons)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar (or honey/agave syrup as a substitute)
  • 1/2 cup cold water (or sparkling water for fizz)
  • 2 cups ice cubes
  • Optional: fresh mint leaves for garnish

Instructions

  1. Rinse and hull about 2 cups of fresh strawberries. Freeze for 1-2 hours until firm but not rock hard for best texture. If using fresh berries, add extra ice cubes later.
  2. Roll lemons on the countertop and juice to get about 1/3 cup fresh lemon juice, removing any seeds.
  3. Add frozen strawberries, lemon juice, sugar (or sweetener), and cold water into a high-speed blender.
  4. Add 2 cups of ice cubes (start with 1 1/2 cups if using frozen strawberries and adjust for desired thickness).
  5. Pulse blend on high for 30 seconds to 1 minute, scraping down sides as needed, until smooth and icy without big chunks.
  6. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness by adding more sugar/honey or lemon juice, then blend briefly again.
  7. Serve immediately in chilled glasses, garnished with fresh mint or a lemon wheel if desired.

Notes

Freeze strawberries before blending for best icy texture. Use natural sweeteners like honey or maple syrup for a healthier option. Pulse blender in short bursts to keep ice crunchy. Serve immediately or keep in freezer for a few minutes if softened. Adjust ice amount depending on frozen or fresh berries.
