  • 1 can (8 oz / 227 g) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1/4 cup (60 ml) sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon (15 ml) sriracha or favorite hot sauce
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon (5 ml) honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons (30 g) melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon (2.5 g) garlic powder
  • Optional toppings: sesame seeds, chopped green onions, shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together sweet chili sauce, sriracha, soy sauce, and honey until smooth. Adjust sweetness if needed.
  3. Unroll the crescent dough onto a clean surface and press perforations to seal. Cut into 8 triangles.
  4. Brush each hot dog lightly with the firecracker sauce. Optionally, sprinkle shredded cheddar on the hot dog before wrapping.
  5. Starting at the wide end of each triangle, roll the hot dog snugly in the dough, tucking ends under. Place seam side down on the baking sheet.
  6. Melt butter and mix in garlic powder. Brush the tops of each wrapped hot dog with the butter mixture, then brush more firecracker sauce on top.
  7. Sprinkle optional toppings like sesame seeds or chopped green onions if desired.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes until crescent rolls are golden brown and flaky.
  9. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving.

Keep crescent dough chilled but pliable for easier handling. Brush dough with butter and garlic powder for a golden finish. Avoid overloading hot dogs with sauce to prevent soggy dough.
