An easy, patriotic dessert featuring crunchy pretzels coated in creamy white chocolate and topped with red and blue sprinkles. Perfect for celebrations like the 4th of July, this simple bark combines sweet and salty flavors in a festive treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • 3 cups mini pretzels (about 120 grams)
  • Red sanding sugar or red sprinkles
  • Blue sanding sugar or blue sprinkles
  • Optional: pinch of sea salt flakes

Instructions

  1. Line a 9×13 inch baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Melt the white chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl in 20-second bursts, stirring between each, until smooth. Alternatively, melt over a double boiler, stirring constantly.
  3. Add the mini pretzels to the melted white chocolate and gently fold until evenly coated but still crunchy.
  4. Pour the pretzel and chocolate mixture onto the prepared baking sheet and spread evenly to about 1/4 inch thickness.
  5. Sprinkle red and blue sanding sugar or sprinkles generously over the warm chocolate. Optionally, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt flakes on top.
  6. Let the bark set at room temperature for about 1 hour or chill in the refrigerator for 20-30 minutes until firm.
  7. Once set, break the bark into rustic chunks.
  8. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to one week.

Notes

If white chocolate thickens while melting, add a teaspoon of vegetable oil or shortening to smooth it out. Work quickly when spreading chocolate to prevent it from hardening before adding sprinkles. Use dry tools to avoid chocolate seizing. Refrigerate to speed setting but bring back to room temperature before serving to avoid waxy texture.
