A quick and easy honey garlic glazed salmon recipe that delivers a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors with a sticky, caramelized glaze. Ideal for busy weeknights or impressing guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (6 ounces / 170 grams each), skin on or off
  • 3 tablespoons honey (raw or pure recommended)
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce (low sodium preferred)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil (extra virgin recommended)
  • Freshly ground black pepper, to taste
  • Salt, to taste
  • Optional garnish: chopped fresh parsley or green onions

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together 3 tablespoons honey, 3 cloves minced garlic, 2 tablespoons soy sauce, and 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice until smooth.
  3. Pat the salmon fillets dry with paper towels, then lightly sprinkle salt and freshly ground black pepper on both sides.
  4. Heat 1 tablespoon olive oil in your skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering but not smoking (about 2 minutes).
  5. Place the salmon fillets skin-side down (if skin on) in the hot pan. Let them cook undisturbed for about 4-5 minutes until the skin is crispy and the edges are opaque.
  6. Flip the salmon carefully using your fish spatula. Pour the honey garlic glaze over the fillets immediately.
  7. Let the glaze bubble and caramelize for about 2 minutes while spooning it over the salmon to coat evenly. The sauce should thicken and become glossy.
  8. Transfer the skillet (or the salmon along with the glaze) to the preheated oven. Bake for another 5-7 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon is just cooked through and flakes easily with a fork.
  9. Remove from oven and let rest for 2 minutes before serving. Spoon any extra glaze from the pan over the fillets for maximum flavor.

Notes

Pat salmon dry before searing to ensure a crispy crust. Use medium-high heat to avoid burning the glaze. Be gentle when flipping the salmon. Watch the glaze closely as honey can burn quickly. Finish cooking in the oven to keep salmon moist. Let salmon rest before serving to redistribute juices. If glaze burns, reduce heat and add a splash of water or lemon juice.
