These Easy Bacon Jalapeno Popper Pinwheels are the ultimate party appetizer—creamy, smoky, and spicy, rolled into perfect spirals that disappear in minutes. Made with simple ingredients and ready in about 30 minutes, they’re a crowd-pleaser for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 slices cooked bacon, crumbled
  • 34 medium jalapeños, finely diced (seeds and membranes removed for milder heat)
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 34 green onions, thinly sliced
  • 4 large flour tortillas (10-inch)
  • 2 tablespoons sour cream
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Cook the bacon in a cold skillet over medium heat, flipping occasionally, until crispy (about 8-10 minutes). Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain and cool, then crumble into small pieces.
  2. While the bacon cooks, slice the jalapeños in half lengthwise, scrape out seeds and membranes, and dice finely.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, combine softened cream cheese, sour cream, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until smooth. Fold in crumbled bacon, diced jalapeños, shredded cheddar, and sliced green onions. Mix until evenly distributed. Taste and adjust seasoning.
  4. Lay the tortillas flat on a clean work surface. If dry, microwave for 10-15 seconds to make pliable.
  5. Divide the filling evenly among the four tortillas. Spread in a thin, even layer, leaving about a 1-inch border around the edges.
  6. Starting at one edge, roll each tortilla tightly, applying gentle pressure. Wrap each roll tightly in plastic wrap, twisting the ends to secure.
  7. Place the wrapped rolls on a baking sheet or plate and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes (or up to overnight).
  8. When ready to serve, unwrap the rolls and place on a cutting board. Using a serrated knife, slice each roll into 1-inch thick pinwheels using a gentle sawing motion. Arrange on a platter and serve cold or at room temperature.

Notes

Don’t skip the chill time—it firms up the cream cheese for clean slicing. For extra crunch, toast assembled pinwheels in a 375°F oven for 8-10 minutes. Jalapeño heat varies; remove seeds and membranes for mild heat. Use room temperature cream cheese for smooth blending. A sharp serrated knife gives the cleanest slices.
