A quick and easy romantic snack idea featuring chocolate-covered strawberries paired with cheeses, nuts, and crackers, perfect for sharing and impressing without stress.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 medium fresh strawberries, firm and ripe with green caps intact
  • 6 ounces (170 g) dark chocolate (70% cocoa recommended)
  • 2 ounces (57 g) white chocolate (optional, for drizzling)
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt
  • 2 ounces brie cheese, small wedges or cubes
  • 2 ounces goat cheese, small wedges or cubes
  • Handful of artisan crackers (water crackers or multigrain)
  • Handful of roasted almonds or pecans
  • A few sprigs of fresh mint for garnish
  • Optional extras: dark chocolate-covered espresso beans or dried cranberries

Instructions

  1. Wash and dry strawberries thoroughly, leaving green leaves on for easy dipping. (5 minutes)
  2. Chop dark chocolate into small pieces and melt using a double boiler or microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth. (7 minutes)
  3. Dip each strawberry by the leaves into melted dark chocolate, swirl to coat evenly, let excess drip off, and place on parchment paper. Chill for 5 minutes, then dip a second time for thicker coating. (10 minutes + chilling)
  4. Melt white chocolate (optional) using the same method and drizzle over the dipped strawberries for decoration. (5 minutes)
  5. Sprinkle flaky sea salt lightly over the soft chocolate on strawberries.
  6. Arrange the charcuterie board by placing chocolate-covered strawberries in the center, surrounded by brie and goat cheese wedges, artisan crackers, roasted nuts, optional extras, and garnish with fresh mint sprigs. (5 minutes)
  7. Serve immediately or chill covered loosely with plastic wrap and refrigerate up to 24 hours. Bring to room temperature before serving.

Notes

Use a double boiler or microwave in short bursts to avoid burning chocolate. Dry strawberries thoroughly before dipping to prevent chocolate from seizing. Double dip strawberries for a thicker chocolate coating. Let cheeses sit at room temperature before assembling for best flavor. Serve board at room temperature to avoid melting chocolate. Consume within a few hours for best freshness.
