This festive holiday appetizer features buttery crescent dough wrapped around a savory turkey and tangy cranberry filling, making it a crowd-pleaser for parties, brunches, or family gatherings. Quick to assemble and bake, it’s perfect for using up leftovers and impressing guests with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 2 cups cooked turkey breast, chopped or shredded
  • 3/4 cup whole berry cranberry sauce
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup shredded Swiss or mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper, to taste (about 1/4 teaspoon each)
  • 1 large egg, beaten (for brushing)
  • 1 tablespoon sesame or poppy seeds (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine turkey, cream cheese, shredded cheese, parsley, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until evenly combined.
  3. Open crescent roll cans and separate into triangles. Arrange triangles in a circle on the baking sheet, wide ends overlapping in the center to form a sunburst pattern, leaving a 3-inch hole in the center.
  4. Spoon the turkey mixture in a ring around the wide ends of the dough, about 2 inches from the edge. Top with dollops of cranberry sauce, spreading evenly.
  5. Fold the points of the crescent dough over the filling and tuck under the ring’s interior edge to seal. Gaps are okay.
  6. Brush the top of the ring with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame or poppy seeds if using.
  7. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the crescent dough is deep golden brown and crispy. Rotate the pan halfway through for even browning.
  8. Let the ring cool for 5 minutes before slicing. Use a sharp knife or pizza cutter for clean slices. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For extra crispness, dust the pan lightly with flour before arranging dough. Use cold crescent dough for easier handling. Don’t overfill to prevent leaks. The ring can be assembled ahead and baked just before serving. For gluten-free or dairy-free, use appropriate dough and cheese substitutes. Leftovers reheat best in the oven or toaster oven.
