These crispy sausage cream cheese crescents combine flaky crescent dough with a savory sausage and creamy cheese filling, perfect for quick breakfasts, brunches, or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (8 oz / 225 g) package crescent roll dough
  • 6 oz (170 g) breakfast sausage, spicy or mild
  • 4 oz (115 g) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Cooking spray or butter, to grease the baking sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line your baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease it.
  2. In a non-stick skillet over medium heat, crumble and cook the sausage until browned and cooked through, about 6–8 minutes. Drain excess fat and let it cool slightly.
  3. In a mixing bowl, soften the cream cheese with a spoon or spatula. Stir in garlic powder, black pepper, and chopped parsley if using. Mix until smooth and well combined.
  4. Unroll the crescent dough on a clean surface and gently press the seams together to form a single sheet. Cut the dough into 8 equal triangles.
  5. Using a small spatula or butter knife, spread an even layer of the cream cheese mixture over each triangle, leaving a small border around the edges.
  6. Spoon cooked sausage evenly over the cream cheese layer on each triangle.
  7. Starting at the wide end, carefully roll each triangle toward the point, creating a crescent shape. Place them point side down on your baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and flaky.
  9. Transfer crescents to a cooling rack for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

If crescents puff unevenly, gently press them down halfway through baking. Cool on a wire rack to prevent soggy bottoms. Use softened cream cheese for easy spreading. You can assemble ahead and refrigerate up to 24 hours before baking. For reheating, bake at 350°F for 8 minutes to restore crispness. Avoid microwaving to keep layers flaky.
