Cinnamon Sugar Twists - featured image

Irresistible flaky pastry twists coated in sweet cinnamon sugar, perfect for parties, brunches, or a quick snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 sheets of store-bought puff pastry, thawed
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Roll out the thawed puff pastry sheets on a lightly floured surface until smooth and even.
  3. Brush the melted butter evenly over the entire surface of the pastry.
  4. In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon. Sprinkle this mixture generously over the buttered pastry.
  5. Using a sharp knife or a pizza cutter, cut the pastry into strips about 1 inch wide.
  6. Take each strip and twist it gently, holding both ends and turning them in opposite directions. Place the twisted strips onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Beat the egg in a small bowl and brush a thin layer over the top of each twist for a golden finish.
  8. Bake for 15-18 minutes, or until the twists are puffed and golden brown. Keep an eye on them to prevent over-browning.
  9. Remove the twists from the oven and transfer them to a cooling rack. Let them cool for about 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

[‘Work with cold pastry for easier handling.’, ‘Don’t skimp on the sugar for the perfect caramelized crunch.’, ‘Monitor closely while baking to prevent over-browning.’, ‘Pinch the ends of each twist slightly before baking to help them hold their shape.’]
