Crispy Bacon Crostini is a quick and easy party appetizer featuring crunchy baguette slices, creamy cheese spread, and crisp bacon. Perfect for gatherings, potlucks, or cozy nights in, this crowd-pleaser is customizable and always a hit.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 large French baguette, sliced into 1/2 inch rounds (about 24 slices)
  • 12 slices thick-cut bacon (about 12 oz)
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 4 oz goat cheese, softened
  • 2 large cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives or parsley, finely chopped (optional, for garnish)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • Optional toppings: crushed red pepper flakes, sliced cherry tomatoes, thinly sliced scallions

Instructions

  1. Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch rounds (about 24 slices). Mince garlic and chop herbs. Set out cheeses to soften (about 20 minutes at room temperature).
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil with minced garlic and let sit for 5 minutes to infuse.
  3. Preheat oven to 400°F. Arrange baguette slices on a baking sheet and brush lightly with garlic-infused olive oil. Bake for 8-10 minutes until golden and crisp, flipping halfway.
  4. Lay bacon slices on a separate baking sheet (or wire rack over sheet). Bake at 400°F for 15-18 minutes until deeply golden and crisp. Transfer to paper towels to drain.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese and goat cheese. Beat until smooth and fluffy. Stir in salt and pepper to taste. If too stiff, add a splash of milk or cream.
  6. Spread a generous layer of cheese mixture onto each toasted baguette slice. Break bacon into 2-inch pieces and place one piece on top of each crostini.
  7. Sprinkle with fresh chives or parsley and add optional toppings if desired. Serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

For extra crunch, use day-old baguette. Bacon is crispiest when baked on a wire rack. Cheese spread can be made ahead and stored in the fridge. For gluten-free or vegetarian options, substitute bread and bacon as needed. Assemble crostini just before serving to prevent sogginess.
