These blondies feature a perfect balance of crispy edges and a tender, chewy center, studded with melting white chocolate and toasted pecans. Easy to make and perfect for any occasion, they deliver rich, comforting flavors with simple ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (227 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 ½ cups (300 g) packed brown sugar
  • ¼ cup (50 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, room temperature
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups (220 g) all-purpose flour (or gluten-free blend for gluten-free option)
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (180 g) white chocolate chips or chunks
  • 1 cup (120 g) chopped pecans, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides for easy lifting.
  2. Toast the pecans in a dry skillet over medium heat for 3-4 minutes, stirring frequently until fragrant and lightly browned. Set aside to cool.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add eggs and vanilla extract to the wet mixture and whisk until glossy and slightly thickened.
  5. In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and salt.
  6. Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined, avoiding overmixing.
  7. Fold in the toasted pecans and white chocolate chips evenly.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top with an offset spatula or spoon.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are golden and set but the center is still slightly soft. A toothpick inserted near the center should come out with moist crumbs.
  10. Cool completely in the pan on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before slicing.
  11. Use the parchment paper overhang to lift the blondies from the pan, then cut into squares and serve.

Notes

Use melted butter for a fudgy texture and crisp edges. Avoid overmixing to prevent tough blondies. Toast pecans carefully to enhance flavor without burning. Rotate pan halfway through baking if needed. Cool completely before slicing for clean cuts. Substitute nuts or chocolate to customize. For dairy-free, use dairy-free butter and white chocolate.
