  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • Optional: pinch of brown sugar for smoky sweetness

Instructions

  1. Pat the chicken breasts dry with paper towels. If unevenly thick, gently pound to about 1-inch thickness (about 2.5 cm).
  2. In a small bowl, combine paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, dried oregano, dried thyme, salt, and black pepper. Stir until evenly blended.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over the chicken breasts and coat thoroughly with hands or a brush.
  4. Sprinkle the Cajun seasoning all over the chicken, pressing it in gently to adhere well.
  5. Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for about 3 minutes.
  6. Place the chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer without touching. Cook for 10 minutes.
  7. Flip the chicken breasts using tongs and cook for an additional 6–8 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). For extra crispiness, add 2 more minutes but watch carefully to avoid burning.
  8. Remove the chicken and let it rest for 5 minutes before serving.
