A quick and easy creamy warm crab dip combining cream cheese, fresh lump crab meat, and a hint of lemon, perfect for parties and gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 oz (225 g) cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup (120 ml) mayonnaise
  • 8 oz (225 g) fresh lump crab meat (or canned, drained)
  • ¼ cup (25 g) grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Old Bay seasoning
  • Hot sauce, a few dashes (optional)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Soften the cream cheese by leaving it out for about 30 minutes or microwaving in 10-second bursts until soft but not melted.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and mayonnaise. Beat with a hand mixer on medium speed or mix vigorously with a spatula until creamy and smooth, about 2-3 minutes.
  4. Add minced garlic, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, Old Bay seasoning, salt, and pepper. Mix well to distribute flavors evenly.
  5. Fold in the lump crab meat gently, being careful not to break up the lumps.
  6. Stir in grated Parmesan cheese and chopped green onions.
  7. Transfer the mixture to a baking dish (8×8 inch or similar), smoothing the top. Optionally, sprinkle extra Parmesan or Old Bay on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until bubbly around the edges and lightly golden on top.
  9. Remove from oven and let sit for 5 minutes before serving.
  10. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley and serve warm with crackers, toasted baguette slices, or fresh veggie sticks.

Notes

If the cream cheese mixture is too thick, add a splash of milk or cream to loosen it. Avoid over-baking to prevent drying out. Use lump crab meat for best texture. Can be made dairy-free using vegan cream cheese and mayo, but crab is not vegan. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days and reheat gently in the oven.
