Cozy Campfire Cone S’mores

Cozy Campfire Cone Smores - featured image

A quick and easy handheld dessert featuring waffle cones stuffed with fresh fruit, chocolate chunks, and optional mini marshmallows, roasted over a campfire or baked indoors for a melty, crispy treat.

Ingredients

  • Waffle cones (sturdy, without cracks)
  • Semi-sweet or milk chocolate chunks or chips
  • Fresh fruit: sliced strawberries, banana rounds, blueberries (or raspberries, chopped peaches)
  • Mini marshmallows (optional)
  • Butter or coconut oil (for brushing cones)
  • Honey or maple syrup (optional drizzle)

Instructions

  1. Slice fresh strawberries, bananas, and gather blueberries. Cut chocolate into chunks if not using chips. (About 10 minutes)
  2. Carefully stuff each waffle cone with a mix of fruit, chocolate chunks, and mini marshmallows if using. Avoid overfilling.
  3. Lightly brush the outside of each cone with melted butter or coconut oil to help crispiness and golden finish. (About 2 minutes)
  4. Roast the filled cones over glowing embers or a low flame, turning slowly every 30 seconds to prevent burning. Roast for 3–5 minutes until chocolate melts and marshmallows puff slightly.
  5. Let cones cool for 1–2 minutes before eating to avoid burns. The cone should remain crisp with a warm, melty interior.
  6. Optionally, drizzle honey or maple syrup on top for extra sweetness and shine.

Notes

Keep cones away from direct flames; roast over glowing embers or gentle heat and turn frequently to avoid burning. Use firm fruits like strawberries and bananas for best texture. Mini marshmallows are optional and should be used sparingly to prevent overflow and burning. For vegan versions, use dairy-free chocolate, coconut oil, vegan marshmallows, and gluten-free cones. If baking indoors, bake at 350°F (175°C) for 5–7 minutes and watch closely to prevent burning.
