These football-shaped Oreo truffles are a fun, crowd-pleasing dessert perfect for game day, Super Bowl parties, or any sports-themed gathering. Creamy, chocolatey centers are wrapped in a crisp chocolate shell and decorated with white chocolate laces for a festive touch.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (14.3 oz) Oreo cookies (classic chocolate flavor recommended)
  • 1 block (8 oz) cream cheese, softened
  • 12 oz semisweet or milk chocolate chips
  • 2 tsp coconut oil or vegetable shortening (optional, for smoother chocolate coating)
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips or candy melts (for laces)

Instructions

  1. Place the entire package of Oreo cookies (filling and all) into a food processor or blender. Pulse until you have fine, uniform crumbs. (Alternatively, crush cookies in a zip-top bag with a rolling pin.)
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the Oreo crumbs with the softened cream cheese. Mix until smooth and no streaks of cream cheese remain. Chill for 10 minutes if mixture is too sticky.
  3. Scoop about 1 tablespoon of the mixture and roll into a ball, then shape into an oval with tapered ends to resemble a football. Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Repeat to make about 24 truffles.
  4. Freeze the shaped truffles for 15-20 minutes, or until firm.
  5. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips with coconut oil (if using) in 30-second bursts, stirring after each, until smooth.
  6. Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle into the melted chocolate, letting excess drip off. Return to the parchment-lined tray.
  7. Freeze the coated truffles for 10-15 minutes, or until the chocolate sets.
  8. Melt white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl for 30 seconds, stirring until smooth. Transfer to a piping bag or zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped.
  9. Pipe one short line across the center of each truffle, then add 3-4 small lines across it to mimic football laces.
  10. Let the laces harden at room temperature for 5-10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Chill the truffle mixture before shaping for easier handling. Use coconut oil in the chocolate for a smoother, shinier coating. If making ahead, store in the fridge for up to a week or freeze for up to 2 months. Gluten-free and dairy-free adaptations are possible by swapping ingredients. Don’t worry about perfect shapes—imperfections add character!
